Lobby of Parliament

14 October 2008

Please come along to a lobby of parliament on 15th October to show the Government your support for the campaign to secure the high rate mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance. This is even more important now in the light of the recent disappointing announcement from the DWP that at the moment, despite being sympathetic to our aims, the Government is not minded to make this change.

The lobby will take place in the afternoon of 15th October where we’ll have the opportunity to 'march' to parliament and then to meet with MPs to show to them the strength of our feeling about this issue.

It would be helpful if you are attending to contact your MP in advance, asking that they attend the lobby so that you can express directly to them your feelings of frustration at the Government's unwillingness to implement this change and the differences that would be made to you if they do.

Rally 11.30 - 13.30 Methodist Central Hall (Storey's Gate, Westminster)
- Refreshments provided. Lobby of Parliament 14.30 - 17.30 - Westminster Hall.

Assistance with transport is offered (by prior arrangement). Please contact the RNIB for further information about this on 0207 391 2096 or dlacampaign@rnib.org.uk

Please come along and show your support for this and perhaps to contribute to changing the law which will benefit many people with the most severe form of visual impairment.

Action’s support for the last parliamentary lobby was tremendous. Let’s see if we can give similar support again!
